Freimeisterkollektiv Fine Faugères brandy marks the revival of an almost forgotten French tradition. Originating from the picturesque wine region of Faugères in southern France, this brandy expresses the essence of the Carignan grape and honours the craftsmanship of Martial Berthaud of L’Atelier du Bouilleur and the vision of natural wine pioneer Catherine Roque.
A tradition revived
After the production of Fine Faugères declined in the 20th century and eventually ceased, Martial Berthaud's passion and dedication brought this noble brandy tradition back to life in 2000. Using an old mobile still and careful maturation in oak casks, a brandy is created that is unsurpassed in its complexity and depth of aroma.
Aromatic profile
Freimeisterkollektiv Fine Faugères stands out for a rich bouquet of orange, Latakia tobacco, leather and cedarwood on the nose. On the palate, notes of candied orange, toffee and mango unfold, followed by a long-lasting finish with nuances of dark chocolate and dried apricots.
Careful production
Only Carignan wine from the Mas d'Alezon estate is distilled. Distillation begins each year immediately after the harvest and ends on 31 March of the following year. The strict selection of the wine, the absence of added sulphur and filtration, and double distillation in centuries-old mobile stills all help Fine Faugères develop its fruity and woody notes to perfection.
A brandy reminiscent of rum
With its full-bodied character and rich variety of aromas reminiscent of rum, Fine Faugères offers a unique taste experience. The intense red wine character of Faugères remains present even after years of maturation and gives the brandy its unmistakable identity.
Serving suggestion
This remarkable Fine Faugères brandy, which captures the essence of the Languedoc region in southern France, promises a unique experience as a fine digestif. Ideally enjoyed neat, this brandy unfolds its complex and rich aromas, ranging from candied orange to exotic mango notes. The harmonious marriage of selected Carignan grapes and artful maturation in oak casks makes Freimeisterkollektiv Fine Faugères an indispensable treasure for connoisseurs of fine brandies.
